Editorial Standards
Yoga & You exists to share yoga that is accurate, safe and rooted in India. Here is how our content is made and held to standard.

Who writes and reviews our content
Our practice, well-being and philosophy content is created by, or grounded in the teaching of, named, real yoga teachers — you will find the author and, where relevant, the reviewer on each page. Our teachers are practitioners whose classes and explanations the content draws on directly.
How we source and verify
We work from primary sources: classical texts (such as Patañjali's Yoga Sutras and the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā) and the teaching of our faculty. Where a page is anchored to a teaching video, we review that video's content to make sure the written guidance matches what is actually taught. Sanskrit terms are given with their IAST transliteration, Devanagari and plain-language meaning.
Answer-first and transparent
Every substantial page opens with a clear, direct summary, so you get an accurate answer first and the depth below. We cite references where they matter and link related terms to our glossary rather than oversimplifying them.
Health and safety
Yoga & You provides general wellness education, notmedical advice. Practice pages carry precautions and contraindications, and our well-being topics use responsible, evidence-aware language ("may support" rather than "cures"). Content on sensitive health topics is written to encourage, not replace, professional care.
Independence from advertising
We may show advertising to support the site, but advertising never influences our editorial content, recommendations or the order in which we present practices.
Corrections
We want to get it right. If you spot an error — a mistranslation, an unsafe cue, or a factual slip — please tell us via our contact page and we will review and correct it.
